About Eddie Izzard's Unrepeatable
This video was recorded one night at the Albery Theatre in March 1994, when Eddie Izzard was playing a limited seven week sold-out run of his celebrated stand-up show. A completely new show from his previous thirteen week run at the Ambassadors the week before, he played to 34,000 people and received more rave reviews than last time:
"Eddie Izzard's one man show comes to the Albery lauded with the kind of praise which makes the cynical critic sit back in her seat, fold her arms and snarl, 'Come on then, make me laugh.' He did. So much so, it began to hurt ... a groundswell of hilarity that starts to grow somewhere in the pit of your stomach and gradually takes over your whole body" - Mail on Sunday.
"If all the awards and nominations have gone to his head, Izzard's performance does not show it. When he pulls up in mid-flow, there is the same sense you get with Robin Williams sometimes, of the audience racing to catch up with a mind that moves too quickly for them." - Indepenent.
