Yann Tiersen Announces New York Performance
Lauded French composer and multi instrumentalist Yann Tiersen has announced a very special concert event for October 8th in New York City. The performance will occur at The Concert Hall at New York Society for Ethical Culture and feature Tiersen accompanied by a full orchestra, interpreting music from throughout his remarkable career including his soundtrack to the beloved film Amelie. The evening will also include songs from Tiersen's upcoming North American debut Dust Lane which showcases a new and distinctly modern side of Tiersen.
Tiersen is renown for merging experimental aspects of classical with flourishes of folk and the bristling energy of post punk. His soundtrack to Amelie and constantly evolving live shows, including an extraordinary set at this year's Coachella Music and Arts Festival, have continued to attract an expanding and dedicated fan base. Tiersen's first ever US release Dust Lane will be released by Anti- Records on October 12, 2010, and charts a bold new musical course incorporating vintage electronics and lush choral textures into a joyful cinematic soundscape. Mixed by Ken Thomas (Sigur Ros) the end result is soaring and undeniably inspirational soundtrack to the moments of a listener's life.
