WILCO REVEAL NEW ANIMATED VIDEO FOR “SUNLOATHE"
The Chicago rock band Wilco premiered a brand new video for “Sunloathe” today on wilcoworld.net. Director Peter Glantz (Andrew W.K., OK Go!) and illustrator Nathaniel Murphy created the animated video for the song from Wilco’s latest dBpm Records release, The Whole Love.
The video features more than 100 original drawings by Murphy which Glantz and his small Providence, RI team of animators illustrated to create a video that “reflects the complicated emotions expressed in the song, where we feel hope and sorrow coexist,” said Glantz.
Wilco’s U.S. tour resumes this week with two upcoming concert performances this weekend at Berkeley’s Greek Theatre on Friday, September 21 (Cibo Matto supports) and Saturday, September 22 (Jonathan Richman supports). The tour – Wilco’s last U.S. tour of 2012 - concludes on September 30 at the famed Hollywood Bowl. Wilco then heads to Europe in early October for one last touring leg of the year, with concerts in Italy, Spain and Germany. A complete list of tour dates follows.
