Sean Rowe Performs For Wolfgang's Vault, Announces Live Dates
Wolfgang's Vault has just posted a series of captivating video clips featuring an acoustic performance by singer-songwriter Sean Rowe. A supremely talented and astonishingly soulful emerging artist from rural upstate New York, Rowe's album Magic will be released on Anti-Records on February 22nd. Wolfgang's Vault is a site dedicated to live concert recordings which began with the collection of the legendary promoter Bill Graham. Rowe's performance features original songs "Old Black Dodge," "The Walker" and "Jonathan" as well as a riveting cover of Richard Thompson's "1952 Vincent Black Lightning." There is also an interview with Rowe discussing his evolution as a songwriter, musical influences, the recording of Magic, and his passion for naturalism.
You can view the performance and interview at Wolfgangs Vault.
As Wolfgang's Vault writes of him, "Magic is Sean Rowe's homage to what he believes in, to what he finds magical in the world. The themes of love, innocence, sex and nature prevail in its heartfelt, crafted songs. On the ambient, deeply resonant closer "The Long Haul", Rowe's voice crackles with life. "And I never hit the spring so hard/ a newborn song on an old guitar/ and I know what it means to be alive," he sings. And like the most evocative works of art, Magic begs the question of its listener: What makes you feel alive? Answer: Sean Rowe's performance."
Sean Rowe will also be performing a short series of live dates in anticipation of the release of his album Magic.
