NY Daily News Heralds Sean Rowe's 'Magic'
The talented and soulful singer-songwriter Sean Rowe's Anti- Records debut album Magic arrives in stores this February 22nd. The reviews have begun to roll in and they are nothing short of effusive. The NY Daily News, one of Gotham's biggest and oldest dailies, remarks of the album, "One listen to his voice shows why he has a buzz around him. Rowe sings in a dark-brewed baritone, deep, rich and sturdy... As the lyrics speak of leaving the skin and becoming the spirit, the music evaporates into a mist. But no matter how remote and spare it seems, in Rowe's hands it all feels close and full."
The Huffington Post weighed in with an enthusiastic review and interview, saying Rowe has, "a distinctive, soulful tone" and "honest and moving songs" before adding that, "You might not know who this guy is, but chances are you will soon after his album Magic drops." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jon-chattman/on-the-rise-singersongwri_b_813212.html
More Advance Praise For Sean Rowe's Magic:
"Sean Rowe would captivate listeners no matter what he was singing. His deep, rumbling baritone delivers tales of lives held in suspension, people balanced between night and day, darkness and light, life and death. They're impressionistic snapshots of this world we live in, full of muted joy and sorrow." - Crawdaddy.com
"He's been there, he's lived it and it's beautiful and haunting at the same time. That's what I hear in the voice of singer/songwriter Sean Rowe. His latest CD Magic is quiet, dark beauty with a dash of dirge." - San Francisco Chronicle
"Sean Rowe's debut platter for Anti packs one soulful and powerful wallop. Each song is a hard-won victory; battered, bruised but not yet defeated." - My Old Kentucky Blog
Sean Rowe and Anti-Records will celebrate the release of Magic with a performance in New York City on February 24th.
