Acclaimed Singer/Musician Announces Special Live Performance At The Getty Center
The talented singer Petra Haden is premiering a remarkable and moving interpretation of “The Superman Theme” at IFC.com today. The track is from Haden’s new album Petra Goes To The Movies which arrives in stores on January 22nd via Anti- and offers an opportunity to experience a collection of cinematic soundtracks in an extraordinary new way.

Haden will a be performing songs from Petra Goes To The Movies live during a very special show at The Getty Center in Los Angeles on January 26th. For this event Haden will be joined by a 16 person choir.

On Petra Goes To The Movies, epic and evocative scores have been ingeniously recreated utilizing layers of remarkably inventive vocals. Far from a mere novelty, these interpretations retain every bit of emotional resonance and inspirational might as the originals. Haden is a highly regarded musician and former member of That Dog who has contributed to records by Beck, The Twilight Singers, The Decemberists, Foo Fighters, Mike Watt and others. In 2005 released an a-cappella rendition of the Who’s pop art masterwork “The Who Sell Out” to widespread acclaim. Pete Townshend proclaimed the record “beautiful.”
