Grinderman Complete Triumphant North American Tour

The sonic fury known as Grinderman, a beautifully volatile rock and roll outfit featuring Nick Cave and longtime Bad Seed cohorts Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey and Jim Sclavunos, has completed a tour of North America in support of their blistering new album Grinderman 2. By all accounts, the entire affair was an unforgettable display of carnal energy leaving audiences battered and blissful and the critics absolutely raving.

Critical Acclaim For Grinderman Live:

"The ungodly squall produced by Nick Cave and three of his fellow moonlighting Bad Seeds (guitarist/violinist Warren Ellis, bassist Martyn Casey, and drummer Jim Sclavunos) was powerful enough to induce seizures, panic attacks, and hallucinations without any superfluous stimuli." - Spin.com

"The aural equivalent of blunt-force trauma." - Wall Street Journal

"Grinderman's whole show at New York's Best Buy Theater on November 14 was one long orgiastic rush. It's amazing how Cave keeps growing stronger as a performer and songwriter without renouncing a lick of his past - he's never had a dry spell, never made a weak album, never had a comeback story. And by the time he shut down the show with the slow-burning theme song "Grinderman," he was the only one in the room who didn't look completely worn out." - Rolling Stone

"Cave was always in complete control whether playing guitar, organ or ditching instruments and simply stalking the stage. His recent renaissance finds him at the peak of his powers, and a show like Tuesday's leaves one wondering if he now fronts two of the world's best live bands. This all from someone who should be entering his twilight years. It's almost enough to make you think he's made some sort of deal with ... well, you know who." - Washington Post

"Nick Cave was on stage, hell's house-band was backing him and our brains were melting out of our ears. Being deafened by such an auditory apocalypse while watching a living legend flail on the stage floor and work its wings like a fire-breathing bringer of death was as life-affirming as it was unsettling." - Nashville Scene

"the quartet now clearly has its own formidable identity, and it can go toe-to-toe with any rock band for sheer ferociousness." - Chicago Tribune

"The members of Grinderman have been making music a long while, which is why the unbridled enthusiasm and passion they bring to brash, abrasive garage rock is so impressive. Sure, many of today's youthful buzz bands that have adopted a similar raw and edgy sound have bite, but none have a pair of fangs as large or as bloodied as Grinderman." - Chicago Sun Times
