Fader.com Premieres Galactic Clip Featuring Mystikal And DJ Mannie Fresh
Fader.com is premiering an energetic new video for the Galactic song "Move Fast" featuring the celebrated band along with fellow New Orleans residents in rapper Mystikal and DJ Mannie Fresh.
The track is from Galactic's most recent album Carnivale Electricos, a high energy affair which sonically explores the connection between New Orleans Mardi Gras and the mighty carnivals of Brazil, utilizing elements of rock, hip hop, r&b, zydeco, jazz, funk and more.
The video is set at a local race track with both the band and rappers performing and driving a series of high octane cars to the rhythmic rollicking sounds of "Move Fast" with Mystikal boisterously rhyming about partying at age 40.
The band's bassist Robert Mercurio says: "As a band we get so much inspiration from collaborations with supremely talented artists. Mystikal and Mannie Fresh are the best of the best and working with them on our album and video was an amazing experience."
Director Bartholomew Singer offers some detail to the events. "I was fortunate enough to have worked with Mannie Fresh years ago on a few Cash Money videos for Universal. So, when I called for the final huddle before the first shot, I told the team, if you're not sure what to do, watch Mannie and Mystikal, they've done more videos than the rest of us combined. From there on out it was a breeze. I was lucky to find Galactic in New Orleans for a couple weeks of down time before their next tour. Ben, Jeff, Rob, Stanton, and Rich were amazingly helpful and their eye for editing is only beaten by their ear for music."

The song will be available as a single on May 22nd via iTunes.
In the coming months, Galactic will be taking their New Orleans dance party on the road for a series of shows in support of Carnivale Electricos.
