The Milk Carton Kids Join Avett Brothers For Live Dates
Grammy nominated folk duo The Milk Carton Kids will be joining The Avett Brothers for two concerts next year at The Greek Theatres in Los Angeles and Berkeley CA, on April 29th and 30th.
The shows are on sale this Friday, December 4th. In addition, The Milk Carton Kids embark on the final leg of their headlining national tour today in San Francisco at The Palace of the Fine Arts.
The duo is touring in support of their acclaimed album Monterey released in May of this year. The album was recorded on stages of concert halls, churches, and theaters across North America in a process that allowed the band to perform with the same fearlessness and spontaneity usually only achieved in concert. The Boston Globe wrote of Monterey, “the splendor of their high-lonesome harmonies, and the way their guitars entwine and frame the songs so beautifully. That’s enough to cast a spell.” NPR wrote, “The duo's sound feels lighter and looser than ever, sacrificing the tiniest bit of pristineness for a much-needed note of softly scuffed-up grace” and Village Voice noted that Monterey is “the first record to distill [The Milk Carton Kids’] talents, truly, and capture them in their comfort zone.”
