So Much Light Unveils Video For "Full Body Mirror"
Self-proclaimed Bizarre & B artist, So Much Light (aka Damien Verrett), has released the music video for “Full Body Mirror,” the second single taken off So Much Light’s debut album Oh, Yuck (August 11 via Anti-).
“Full Body Mirror” takes a critical look at the conditioned male perspective. “The track is about microaggressions people may not realize they are committing when they compliment or comment on a person’s appearance. To me, trapping somebody in their "full body mirror" means forcing them to reflect on their appearance by bringing it up when it is not appropriate to do so,” Verrett further explains.
The track features woodwind arrangements by Nate Kinsella (American Football, Joan of Arc) in addition to Verrett’s sprightly guitar work and programming. The video, directed by Jane Qian, sees Verrett’s body in an array of uncomfortable positions in various backdrops.

Listen to Oh, Yuck via Spotify
Much of Oh, Yuck was written and recorded in the suburban home of Verrett’s parents. The rest was co-produced, engineered, and mixed by Jason Cupp (American Football, Maps & Atlases) in Omaha, NE and Brooklyn, NY. Utilizing both organic and electronic sounds, Oh, Yuck is wrought with textural soundscapes grounded by programmed orchestral compositions, sprightly guitar lines and thrashing drums. Lyrically, Verrett puts traditional R&B tropes in a funhouse mirror and warps the genre’s bravado into a parody of itself.
