So Much Light Releases New Song and Announces Tour Dates
Young Northern California artist, So Much Light (aka Damien Verrett), has just released a new single titled “Nothing But Your Love.”
The song features UK based singer-songwriter Natalie Evans. As with most cases in the millennial era of music, So Much Lights’ new track was truly born on the internet, as Evans and Verrett bounced ideas back and forth online. In fact, the two have been friends for a couple years, they had not officially meet till last March on So Much Light’s West Coast tour.

According to Verrett, “Natalie and I began collaborating on this song after each of us had moved back in with our parents. At the time, we were both in long distance relationships. We decided to write about the difficulties of that situation in a sort of ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’ style duet. We wrote the lyrics ‘telephone style’, sending vocal stems back and forth a line at a time until we’d built out the whole song.
By the time ‘Nothing But Your Love’ was finished, Natalie and I had each gotten out of our respective ruts. To me, this song has come to symbolize our friendship and the way two people can boost each other up through music.”
Additionally, So Much Light will embark on a series of East Coast tour dates with Polyenso. The tour will begin October 20 in Clifton, NJ and wrap October 27 in Orlando, FL. Tickets go on sale Friday, September 9.
So Much Light unites the electronic indie charms of Toro Y Moi and Flume with the courage and swagger of R&B stars like, Neyo and The Weeknd. Elements of soul are combined with thoughtful arrangements and production; an evocative poetry counter balanced by a self-deprecating sarcasm, all layered effortlessly over some truly virtuoso guitar playing. Late last year So Much Light released a powerful five-song digital EP entitled Idiot Soul on Anti- Records. A virtuoso in his craft, Verrett has managed to lace bits of science into the soundboard.
