New Tim Fite Album Available Today
Tim Fite is a multi faceted artist and a true original. He will be releasing his brilliant new album Ain't Ain't Ain't today March 6th via Anti Records. It is the best record of a prolific and unquestionably unique career.
Fite resides in Brooklyn where he makes both musical and visual art with a celebrated sense of diligence. His fine art has been exhibited at galleries in NYC, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Puerto Rico. His musical catalog has addressed an assortment of topics including: love, death, injustice, poverty, greed and the turmoil of a creative life. His songs have provided a welcome voice of thoughtful defiance that has been embraced by kindred spirits far and wide.
These themes have been ingeniously visualized in Fite's renowned multi-media stage-show; a darkly whimsical affair that merges music, illustration, video, and light carpentry. In the past Fite has shared stages with the likes of Man-Man, Les Claypool, Azure Ray, Porter Wagoner, St. Vincent, Fleet Foxes and others.

Fite's evocative new album is the final installment of his critically acclaimed "Ain't" trilogy. The first two albums, Fair Ain't Fair and Gone Ain't Gone, were powerful sound collages that artfully combined disparate musical traditions without pretense or prejudice. Underneath the exquisite sound was an artist addressing the issues of his time and the circumstances of his life. Both records received phenomenal praise from both fans and publications such as The Chicago Tribune, Washington Post, San Francisco Bay Guardian, NPR and more.
While Fite's previous albums addressed adult issues with a youthful exuberance, Ain't Ain't Ain't is, in many ways, their thematic opposite. The record's songs focus on the profound pain, hope and unbridled passion of one's teenage years. Unlike previous works which were created using a collage of samples, this time Fite played and recorded all the instruments in his studio. The leaner sound reveals the artist to be a classic songwriter of startling ability.
"First loves, fist fights, cliques, slow-dances, broken hearts, joyrides, bullies and the big game," Fite says. "These adolescent rites all act as mirrors for the future. Teenage loves are the loves to which all subsequent loves must be compared. Teenage fuck-ups are the fuck-ups by which all other fuck-ups are measured. There is no better mirror than a teenage mirror - because it reflects the best and worst of us simultaneously - pimples and all. The songs on this record are reminders of who we were, who we are, and who we may come to be."
"Many have marveled at Tim Fite's cleverness, but equally gratifying are the advances he's made sonically." - Alternative Press
