Neko Case Hooks Up With The Sadies… Again
Good friends help each other out. The Sadies have long stood behind their pal Neko Case, often playing both opening act and backing band for the criticall- lauded chanteuse. Ms. Neko is about to hit the road and guess who she's taking along with her?
Along with Seattle's Visqueen (a band which, until very recently, featured Fastbacks bassist Kim Warnick, who has since been replaced by The Muffs' Ronnie Barnett), The Sadies and Case will take to the road in mid-January and mid-February. Unfortunately for most of The Sadies' countrymen, the bulk of the dates will take place in the U.S., but Case will make room for shows in Toronto (sans Sadies) and Montreal (avec Sadies).
If you live elsewhere in the country, you can achieve pretty much the same effect by pasting a picture of Case up on your wall and plugging in her superb new live album, The Tigers Have Spoken. Recorded in Chicago and Toronto last year, the album features the help of Case pals like Carolyn Mark, Kelly Hogan and, of course, The Sadies. The album is currently in stores courtesy of Mint Records.
Catch Neko Case on the following dates:
January 14 Chicago, IL @ The Metro (w/The Sadies) January 15 Cleveland, OH @ Beachland Ballroom (w/The Sadies) January 16 Toronto, ON @ Phoenix February 11 Montreal, QC @ Club Soda (w/The Sadies, Visqueen) February 13 & 14 New York, NY @ Bowery Ballroom February 15 Baltimore, MD @ Rams Head Live (w/The Sadies, Visqueen) February 19 Atlanta, GA @ Variety Playhouse (w/The Sadies, Visqueen) February 20 Louisville, KY @ Phoenix Hill (w/The Sadies, Visqueen)
