Glen Hansard Launches US Tour This Week, Premieres Video For "Time Will Be The Healer"
Glen Hansard will launch his US tour this week in support of his third studio album Between Two Shores, released January 19 via Anti-, with two shows at Los Angeles’ Disney Concert Hall on March 10th and 11th.
On Sunday night, March 11th, Hansard will be joined by the prestigious Los Angeles Philharmonic, conducted by David Campbell. As a warm-up to the tour, Hansard will perform an intimate sold out Largo show on March 8th.
Hansard also revealed his official music video for the emotional and poignant “Time Will Be The Healer” today. Filmed in Clifden on the West Coast of Ireland and directed by Dara Munnis and John Broe, the video, which is introduced by puppets, features a melancholy Hansard walking through the town collecting passers-by before singing on an abandoned theater stage. Mixed with various forms of performance art courtesy of the Footsbarn Traveling Theatre, expressive moments surround the song which serves as a hopeful plea to a forlorn lover.

“Our involvement in this video was a brief invitation into the curious mind of Glen Hansard. The concept, narrative and direction was fully born out of opportunity,” Munnis recalled. “We spent an exhilarating three days with the Footsbarn crew making this up as we went along. One village parade, many bottles of late night wine, an addictive smoke machine and one near-death drone experience later, this is the video we’re left to share!”
Following a series of sold out shows in New York upon release, the upcoming two-week jaunt includes visits to Oakland, Chicago, Washington DC, Boston and Philadelphia. Full list of tour dates below.
Between Two Shores, which follows 2015’s GRAMMY nominated Didn’t He Ramble, and Hansard’s 2012 solo debut Rhythm and Repose, is currently available via all major streaming services and retailers including Amazon, Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music along with his website, GlenHansard.com.
