DR. DOG APPEARS ON YO GABBA GABBA!
Philadelphia's Dr. Dog turned in a delightfully psychedelic appearance on the popular Nickelodeon kid’s show Yo Gabba Gabba! this week. The group appeared on the show, which has previously hosted such musical guests as the Shins, The Killers, Hot Hot Heat and MGMT, playing a song about gardening called “When You're A Gardner” to an audience of enthralled children.

Dr. Dog are renowned for their raucous and transcendent live shows. They will be embarking on a headline tour of North America in support of their new album B-Roomin stores October 1st. The band will also be playing a number of dates this fall opening for The Lumineers. See below for a list of live dates.
Spin Magazine recently premiered the first track from the new album called “The Truth,” describing the song as “a timeless slab of melancholic beauty.” Since then the track has compiled a massive amount of listens on YouTube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUnpNq7U2Qk and a number of other publications have offered enthusiastic praise:
“Reminiscent of the sounds of old-school soul and Motown tracks, but there is still a distinct modern/garage rock edge that allows this song to be more than just a 70's soul sound-a-like. It's soothing and simple. What more could you ask for?” - Filter
“The truth might hurt, but Philly minstrels Dr. Dog make it feel oh-so-good in their vintage-style video for their soulful new single, The Truth. The track breezily pays homage to the kings and queens of Philly soul while allowing the boys to keep carving out a path of their own.” – CMJ
“The live take approach has stripped the band to their core, removing a lot of the psychedelic pomp and circumstance to leave only the soulful swagger of warmly vibrating organ, methodical guitar work, and McMicken’s world-weary harmonies.” - Consequence Of Sound
