Doe Paoro Shares "Second Door"
Consequence of Sound is now premiering a brand new song by acclaimed singer and musician Doe Paoro.
The expansive and atmospheric track is entitled “Second Door” and is from her upcoming sophomore Anti- release in 2018. Listen here: Consequence of Sound
Paoro says that the song, with its mantra like chorus of “Next time I'll know, I’ll help amend, let it be so, love comes again,” was written about "seeking forgiveness, both from others and for self” and was inspired by the Tibetan idea of the "Bardo," a transitional stage between death and rebirth.
"Second Door" was produced by renowned producer Jimmy Hogarth who has previously worked with Amy Winehouse, James Blunt, James Bay and others. In addition, the track features guitar work and ambient sounds care of Leo Abrahams, who produced Regina Spektor’s recent Remember Us to Life album and frequently collaborates with musician Brian Eno.
Writing about Paoro’s previous Anti- full length release After, Pitchfork proclaimed the record “a confident, beautiful, clear-eyed testament."
Paoro kicks off her Los Angeles residency at renowned venue The Hotel Cafe starting tomorrow, Wednesday November 1st, and including November 8th and November 15th.
