Charmingly Irish indie rock quartet the Frames were personally invited by Bob Dylan to open for the American folk-rock legend's August tour of Australia and New Zealand. Ergo, it was an easy decision for the band, led by dedicated singer/songwriter Glen Hansard, to extend their tour in support of their ninth album, The Cost (Anti-).
But that's not all in Frames-related news. Aforementioned frontman- turned-actor Glen Hansard is celebrating another honor. Irish indie-film Once, a modernized musical about the love lives of a busker (played by Hansard) and an immigrant who collaborate musically, won Sundance's World Cinema Audience: Dramatic award. Picked up by Fox Searchlight, the film hit Los Angeles and New York theaters mid-May.
