Anti Signs Doe Paoro
ANTI- is excited to announce the signing of celestial singer-songwriter Doe Paoro, a Los Angeles-based artist who has garnered acclaim for an innovative, expressive sound that references elements of synth pop, modern R&B and earthy minimalism. Stereogum described Paoro's song "Walking Backwards" as a "new Amerykan torch song delivered with theatrical flair from within a futuristic orchestral sheen.”

Paoro’s stunning DIY debut Slow to Love was heralded by Consequence Of Sound, Stereogum, The Village Voice, New York magazine and others. VICE’s Noisey praised Paoro's ability to fuse “parsed back electronics—which build to a cathartic climax—and soul-steeped R&B.”
Paoro aims to create music with an unconventional approach to universal themes of love and loss. “There’s an assumption that pop music needs to be dumbed down,” she explains. “But I think pop can be surprising, even uncomfortable. It can make you think about things you hadn’t considered before, perhaps awakening a part of yourself that you hadn’t been paying attention to. Making music helps me move through my own experiences and come out with a better understanding of them.”
